Congratulations to our Transition Year Students on their outstanding success at the Trinity Law Society Outreach Mock Trials Finals. This competition took place on Friday 11th March in Trinity College. After a series of nail-biting Mock Trial rounds, the students were ecstatic when it was announced that they were selected to compete in the final. Our budding barristers were very impressive as they competed in the trials. The students really got into character when they appeared before the court robed in their barrister’s attire. They exuded confidence, participated with conviction and competed fiercely throughout this event, representing our College with pride.
Two of our students won Best Speakers on the day. Halle-Kate Cunningham won Best Female Speaker while Philip Neeson scooped Best Male Speaker.
This is a particularly momentus accomplishment for BHC as it is the first time in the history of the College that our students participated in this competition. Congratulations and well done to all the students involved on their superb achievement. This was a fantastic learning opportunity and they have gained valuable life skills such as public speaking and self-confidence as well as planning, organisation, teamwork and time-management skills.
A special word of appreciation to Ms. Mary Gill, TY Co-ordinator, for her advice, time and effort in preparing our students so well for the competition.
