Delivering a powerful speech

Beech Hill College student, Niamh Murphy, is winner of the All Ireland Barúil Irish Public Speaking competition, organized by Gael Linn.

Having progressed through the Regional Final of the competition in Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey where she delivered an excellent speech, Niamh represented her school, county and region when she took to the stand in Magee University, Derry for the Final.

Niamh competed in the Leaving Certificate category. She delivered an excellent speech on “Na brúanna ar dhéagóirì inniú”, and displayed her outstanding talents in the Irish language and public speaking. The standard of the competition was extremely high and Niamh saw off all opponents in her category to become the Barúil 2009 All Ireland Champion.
