Beech
Hill College students took part in the ‘Big Sing’
in November 2008. Along with 3500 other schools across Ireland and the
UK Beech Hill College students and teachers gathered at 2.45pm to sing
in an effort to make their way into the Guinness Book of Records.
Over 250
students and teachers were involved and numbers were validated by
Chairperson of Co. Monaghan VEC, Mr. Pat Treanor and former Principal
of the
College, Mr. John Heaphey.
This was the first year that Irish schools took part in this event and
it is estimated that over 600,000 people in Ireland and the UK were
singing in unison on November 28th 2008.
