Beech Hill Students travel to Poland

Four students from Beech Hill College had the privilege of travelling to Ostrada, Poland in May as Irish representatives of an EU-funded Comenius Project entitled Flight - A European History.
A group of students in the College have been actively involved in the project and have constructed several model airplanes under the guidance of Project Co-ordinator, Mr. Peter O'Connor.

Seven countries are taking part in the project - Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia. Students from schools in all of these countries came together in Ostrada, where they shared information on their own background while experiencing Polish culture. The students stayed with Polish families and were touched by the warm welcome and hospitality they received.
Teachers Ms. O'Connor (who acted as interpreter) and Mr. Treanor accompanied Beech Hill students David Carroll, Siobhan Dolan, Dwaine Colton and Angela McMahon on the trip. The project continues and another exchange visit in the coming year will provide a further four students with the opportunity to avail of this unique learning experience.
