Many students of
French at Beech Hill College were involved in recognising and embracing
the diverse cultural backgrounds of their neighbouring European
countries on this special day. They learnt basic greetings in Spanish,
Italian, and German.
The 3rd Year group
organised and took part in a quiz which dealt with questions covering
many different aspects of European life - music, sport, politics,
language, customs, geography and history.
The most colourful
aspect of the day was the students' presentation of different European
language phrases around the school - a way of encouraging others to
learn a phrase or two in another language.
The highlight of the
day was the 1st Year groups' re-enactment of a scene from "The Three
Musketeers". Their costumes and acting were simply a delight to enjoy.
The students are already looking forward to next year's European Day of
Languages.
