The North East Schools Basketball Competition has expanded its D league, making it more competitive. The Beech Hill College team, having won the VEC Basketball league last year, is very motivated and looking forward to the regional final, which is due to take place on 6th December in Carrickmacross.

Guided by the coaching of their PE teacher Ms Gillanders and Home Economics teacher Ms Marray, the talented U-16 team recently defeated Ballymahon Vocational School, Co. Longford, Castleblayney College and Largy College, Clones.
Beech Hill College is doing extremely well winning all matches played so far. Training began in September and continues twice weekly. The girls look forward to forthcoming matches, which include Loreto College and St. Claire's College, Cavan.
First and second year boys and girls are following in the footsteps of the U-16 girls' team. They defeated Colaiste Oiriall in two challenge matches that took place on Tuesday 18th October. Competition matches for 1st and 2nd years will commence in December.
