SID 2016

On February 9th 2016 more than 100 different countries will celebrate Safer Internet Day 2016 (SID) to promote a better internet for children.

There are many useful resources available for parents, students and teachers on the
Safer Internet Day Website

On the PARENTS page you will get information on the content of and on how to download the following:

  • Family E-Safety Kit
  • Parents’ Guide to Social Networking.
  • Parents’ Guide to Cyberbullying
  • Parents’ Guide to New Media Technologies
  • Parents’ Guide to Internet Filtering

One of the best pieces of SID advice is to be involved in your child’s online world – so there’s no better time to get going.

For young people there is The Web We Want: The Web We Want is an educational handbook for use by 13-16 year olds, developed with and by young people. It has lots of valuable, thought-provoking content. It could also provoke adults to think about their own internet use.
